Paul
I am going to be the captain again this year. Perhaps because I like to see us all doing something besides watching others play sports on television while eating. Maybe because it is so I can talk about bikes more. We had a good time last year pulling this together quickly and I hope that we keep on growing. Look for us to not be the ones at the front of the pack but the ones laughing the hardest.
Since I moved to Charlotte I have finally been able to have enough time to compete in triathlons and even managed a marathon. This kind of opportunity to be in an endurance bicycling event is fantastic. It takes so much planning and support to try to ride this distance normally.
I have had plenty of cancer in my life. My mother was the squeaky clean kind who didn’t drink or smoke, which exercised and ate the right foods in the right proportions. It didn’t matter when the cancer came.
My friend Randy had a bout –w- cancer and it took a year from him, but he was ok the last time I heard.
There are more people I have known but suffice it to say that I ride to honor those who survived and in memory of those who suffered and passed on.
Now I have to build some bike racks.
Paul and his new favorite bike!!!!!
